Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will be Leonardo Seixas (better known as “GloGlo”) who started training Jiu-Jitsu in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1989 at the age of 13. His first academy was the headquarters of Grandmaster Helio Gracie, Gracie Humaita, located inside of his school (Colegio Padre Antonio Vieira). In the Academy he received private and group classes from Masters Rolker and Royler Gracie.
In 1992, he moved to Barra da Tijuca., and trained with the founder of both Gracie-Barra and the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Master Carlos Gracie Jr. He graduated ten years later, receiving his black belt from Master Carlos Gracie Jr.
At Gracie-Barra, his training partners and close friends consisted of some of the greatest Jiu-Jitsu fighters in the world, such as: Mauricio Mariano “Tinguinha”, Roberto “Gordo”, Alexandre “Soca”, Antonio “Nino” Schembri, Vinicius “Draculino”, Helio “Soneca”, Joao Paulo “Big-Head”, Marcio “Pe de Pano”, Marcio Feitosa, and many others as well as Gracie family members such as Renzo, Ralph, Ryan, Rollezinho, Igor, and Roger. This training allowed him to become a Heavy Weight class fighter with the agility and technical skills of a Light Weight.
In Parallel to his training at the Barra Gracie Academy, he also started teaching Jiu-Jitsu classes in 1996. In his 13 years of teaching, he has developed many Jiu-Jitsu champions. In 1998 he also started his work at the Confederacao Brasileira de Jiu-Jitsu, where I gained experience organizing the Brazilian, Pan American, and World Championships, contributing to the development of Jiu-Jitsu in general.
Today, he has nothing but appreciation for the 20 years of experience and direct contact with Jiu-Jitsu, as a student, competitor, teacher, and tournament organizer. He can attest that Jiu-Jitsu has contributed in a very positive manner, the development of his character, morals, and lifestyle. He transfers this knowledge daily to all of my students and friends, providing them with the same opportunities and benefits that he has had as a Jiu-Jitsu practitioner.
